About the position:
A fully funded PhD position is available at the Tecnun School of Engineering, University of Navarra, San Sebastián, Spain. The selected candidate will join the Wireless Instrument Group (WIN) at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong research background to contribute to the development of service-aware 6G communication and computing technologies for Critical Cyber-Physical Systems (CCPS), including applications such as industrial automation and smart grids. To address the diverse and stringent requirements of CCPS, integrated 6G communication and computing schemes with service-aware characteristics should be developed, focusing on end-to-end system performance against key performance indicators.
The selected candidate will work on the following key tasks:

Qualification requirements
An MSc degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related fields. Date of degree: before Aug. 31, 2025
- Proficiency in programming and Linux systems.
- Strong background in telecommunications, networking, and/or computing.
- Experiences in building wireless systems or experimental testbeds.
- Familiarity with 5G standards and/or open-source projects, e.g. OpenAirInterface and srsRAN, is preferred.
- Knowledge of critical cyber-physical systems is considered as an advantage.
The candidate must meet the requirements for admission to the doctoral program at the Tecnun School of Engineering.
