We are seeking a visionary and hands-on technical water expert to join us as Water Positive Specialist and Project Manager. As part of a startup revolutionizing the future of Water Footprint Impact and Water Stewardship, you will play a boosting role in shaping and driving our go-to-market and deployment plan.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in water management, specifically in agriculture related fields and/or water tech ecosystem with an entrepreneurial and sustainability-oriented mindset together with a successful track record in project planning, execution and performance measuring .
We are currently looking for a Water Specialist Project Manager who will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of water positive projects in the agricultural sector. As part of your responsibilities, you will design, manage, and monitor projects aimed at reducing water consumption and increasing efficiency, ensuring alignment sustainability standards for water stewardship. You will play a pivotal role in helping our corporate clients offset their water footprint through verified and impactful water positive initiatives.
Water Twins is a new impact venture developed by Byld (Corporate Venture Builder based in Madrid) that aims to promote a change in water footprint compensation for medium/big companies by designing and developing Water Positive projects that will help national watersheds to preserve their main resource through local projects that count on innovation and digitalization as the starting pillars of water saving.
The perfect candidate should have an exquisite mix of technical expertise in water innovation, agriculture or agrotech projects plus an entrepreneurial experience to support Water Twins growth and development project by project.
Project Development:
Design and execute water positive projects end to end, tailored to the agricultural sector.
Conduct assessments to identify opportunities for water savings and efficiency improvements.
Co-develop solutions with irrigation communities and technology providers, ensuring practicality and scalability.
Measure client’s water footprint if required through ISO 14046 and Water Footprint Network Methodologies to set offset objectives. (Not a compulsory requirement, additional formation granted once onboard).
Project Management:
Oversee the end-to-end implementation of projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to objectives.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
Define and execute the service strategy aligned with Water Twins overall objectives, leading the development and implementation of its roadmap to drive growth and scalability.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Certification:
Measure and verify water savings achieved through project implementation establishing tangible metrics.
Prepare comprehensive reports detailing project outcomes and water benefits.
Ensure certification of water savings using the international standards to attribute benefits to corporate clients. (Not a compulsory requirement, additional formation granted once onboard).
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build strong relationships with farming communities, irrigation organizations, and water technology suppliers.
Collaborate with corporate clients to align project goals with sustainability targets.
Manage stakeholders from sales journey to project execution journey.
Collaboration & Cross- functional alignment:
Collaborate closely with the CEO, product, and sales teams to align projects and processes with client and market needs and business goals.
Collaborate across teams to provide technical insights that inform not only business strategy but also the selection of working tools and market solutions, driving feature development, operational improvements, and overall company strategy.
Sales & Operations Development:
Work with the AARRR Sales Metrics Diagram (Acquisition – Activation – Retention – Referral - Revenue).
Ensure solutions meet reliability, security, and compliance standards while designing robust, scalable, and impactful projects for any geographic location.
Define agile development processes and establish technical standards to ensure high-quality project building and timely delivery.
Negotiate and meet with different corporations potentially interested in compensating their water footprint, pushing sales force in any applicable industry.
What we are looking for…
Bachelor's or Master's degree in water technology, agricultural engineering, agronomy, environmental science, or related fields with 5 years of working experience in sustainability fields.
Proven experience in water positive initiatives, agricultural water management, or sustainability projects.
Strong understanding of water management practices, irrigation systems, and water-saving technologies in agriculture.
Familiarity with Water Footprint Measurement methodologies including ISO 14046 and Water Footprint Network
Familiarity with the Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting (VWBA) standard or similar water stewardship frameworks.
Network and/or experience with Water Positive associations/communities.
Passion for sustainability and commitment to driving meaningful water conservation outcomes.
Exceptional project management skills with the ability to handle multiple stakeholders and complex workflows.
Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting for water usage and savings metrics.
Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset for designing impactful solutions.
Excellent understanding of client needs and delivering cutting-edge technical solutions that meet market demands.
Team player who actively contributes to building a positive culture and a collaborative environment.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities to engage and align diverse stakeholders.
Willingness to travel to project sites and engage directly with farming communities.
