The research group “Epidemiology of Mental Health Disorders and Ageing” led by Dr. Josep Maria Haro seeks a postdoctoral researcher to work in the Epidemiology of Youth Mental Health research line, together with Dr. Rodrigo Antunes Lima.
We offer a 12-month contract, with the possibility of renovation. The main attribution of this postdoctoral position is to support the conduction of two EU-funded projects: the e-Intervention Enhancing Mental Health in Adolescents (IMPROVA project; https://www.improva-project.eu/), and the ePlatform for Promoting Health in Schools project (ePro-Schools https://www.linkedin.com/company/epro-schools/?viewAsMember=true ).
IMPROVA will co-design, pilot, evaluate, and facilitate the upscaling of a modular eHealth intervention platform that aims to improve mental health and wellbeing, early detect mental health problems and prevent common mental problems in adolescents. IMPROVA will be implemented in school settings and will include components for adolescents, parents, teachers, and other school staff in complementary and synergistic modules based on materials designed and tested in >20 projects carried out by the consortium members. The platform will be co-created by the consortium in collaboration with stakeholder groups (adolescents, parents, teachers, other school staff, schools and policymakers). IMPROVA includes an international inter-disciplinary group of researchers and practitioners from medicine, education, psychology, sociology, public health, economics, physical activity, ethics, law, UX design, computer science, medical informatics, data science, ICT technologies, and policymakers. After pilot testing the platform, IMPROVA will be implemented via a cluster randomised controlled trial in secondary education schools randomly selected in France, Germany, Romania and Spain, including 8,000 adolescents. A 360º evaluation of IMPROVA will include Effectiveness, Implementation, Economic, and Social Return on Investment analysis. Using implementation science methodology, IMPROVA will co-design transferable evidence-based guidance for scaling up the platform with users and policymakers. IMPROVA aims to provide an evidence-based, innovative, large-scale, comprehensive intervention, and a scale-up plan to promote mental health and prevent mental disorders in adolescents; empower adolescents and families to make better decisions regarding their mental health; and provide schools and the community with tools to achieve a society with better mental health and lower stigma.
ePro-Schools will co-design, pilot and evaluate an evidence-based modular eHealth intervention platform to promote physical activity and healthy eating, and reduce time in sedentary behaviours.
A profound co-creation process, including marketing survey and focus groups with adolescents, teachers, school directors and policy makers together with the adaptation of previous interventions conducted by the consortium members will support the development of the platform. The ePro-Schools platform will contain modules for adolescents and their parents, teachers and school administration. Although the platform will be implemented through schools, it will include contents to be implemented outside the schools setting. By evaluating register-based and cohort data, we will identify schools that have adolescents from socially disadvantaged settings to conduct a randomised controlled trial in those schools to test the ePro-Schools platform. Using implementation science methodology, ePro-Schools will co-design transferable evidence-based practices and methodologies and guidance for scaling up the platform with policymakers and stakeholders as well as informing specialists, policymakers and the general public.

En TECNALIA queremos reforzar nuestro equipo del Área de Negocio de “Next Generation Factories”, cuya misión es inducir nuevas oportunidades de negocio derivadas de los nuevos retos que debe afrontar el sector Industrial para abordar la trasformación digital.
Trabajamos en proyectos que ayudan a nuestros clientes a abordar la digitalización en un sentido amplio en diferentes sectores industriales, con el objetivo de incluir comunicaciones e inteligencia a los equipos, sistemas y procesos. Ayudamos a definir los requisitos que aseguren la eficiencia, calidad, disponibilidad y flexibilidad de la producción, la interoperabilidad y la ciberseguridad, y la incorporación integrada de Inteligencia Artificial en la monitorización inteligente de la producción.
Para reforzar el equipo deseamos incorporar un/a Gestor/a de Proyectos con sólido background tecnológico en los ámbitos arriba referidos y experiencia demostrable de 3-5 años en gestión de proyectos de investigación complejos, capaz de dar respuesta a los problemas, los retos y oportunidades que afronta el sector de la industria y la transformación digital.

The i2CAT Foundation (Barcelona) is opening a position to advance in the research and innovation field of high quality 3D reconstruction, both offline and in real-time.
The candidate will join i2CAT’s Media Tech group, which is composed of over 20 experienced researchers and engineers in the fields of distributed and interactive multimedia systems and media processing, and is involved in relevant R&I projects with the European and national ecosystems, in close collaboration with key players from academia and industry.
This area is seeking a Senior Research Engineer with experience in the application of Machine Learning techniques applied to 3D/Volumetric reconstruction. The ideal candidate should have experience with different ML architectures and frameworks used in the field of Computer Vision and 3D reconstruction. The candidate should also be highly knowledgeable in pinhole camera modeling and parameterization. . Additionally, having experience in GPU programming is a plus (e.g.: CUDA/OpenCL). The candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research, innovation and development tasks. In particular, the candidate in charge of building custom datasets, designing and testing new algorithms and solutions in the field of 3D reconstruction and integrating the developed solutions into our platform.
The candidate should be highly self-driven while also capable of seamlessly collaborating hand-in-hand with different experts within i2CAT and highly relevant international partners from academia and industry under the umbrella of competitive national and international projects (Horizon Europe, European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking, SNS JU).
The results from the planned research and development activities are expected to lead to high-impact scientific publications, technology/knowledge transfer (e.g., open-source software, patents, contributions to standards), resulting cutting-edge software and services, and career development opportunities.
The candidate, along with the 3D reconstruction team within Media Tech, will be involved in the development of novel methods to enhance the quality of our 3D holoportation system using advanced computer vision approaches. The candidate will also be in charge of exploring other 3D reconstruction solutions for tasks such as 3D reconstruction of large scenarios (e.g.: a city monument and surroundings) and offline high definition and high fidelity human reconstruction. Besides, the candidate will be actively involved in the development of Media Tech’s active National/European projects (Such as Didymos,XRECO and PRESENCE)

The candidate will join the Media & Internet Area (MIA) of i2CAT, which is composed of over 18 experienced researchers and engineers in the fields of distributed and interactive multimedia systems and media processing, and is involved in relevant R&I projects with the European and national ecosystems, in close collaboration with key players from academia and industry.
This area is seeking a highly Research Engineer with experience in volumetric video streaming to join our development team. The ideal candidate should have experience with video codecs, low level programming (C/C++). Additionally, having experience in GPGPU is a plus (Such as CUDA/OpenCL). The candidate will be in charge of maintaining and adding new features to the volumetric video compression pipeline.
Moreover, the candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research, innovation and development tasks. All this R&I&D will shape the future of HoloMIT, collaborating hand-in-hand with experts in the media and networks domains under the umbrella of competitive national and international projects (Horizon Europe, European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking, SNS JU), including the collaboration with highly relevant international partners from academia and industry.
The results from the planned research and development activities are expected to lead to high-impact scientific publications, technology/knowledge transfer (e.g., open-source software, patents, contributions to standards), resulting cutting-edge software and services (e.g., Volumetric Video Compression and Neural Radiance Fields/ Gaussian Splatting), and career development opportunities (self and of supervised of highly skilled personnel).

Estamos buscando una Persona para incorporarse a nuestro equipo de trabajo de Leartiker Tecnología de Polímeros en la especialización tecnológica de Salud. En esta especialización, desarrollamos nuevos materiales poliméricos biocompatibles para su uso en dispositivos médicos, de la idea al paciente.
La Persona se incorporará de manera transversal a diferentes líneas de investigación del área Salud. Participará, por una lado, en la línea de microfluídica, en la que desarrollamos dispositivos Point-of-Care (POC) por inyección-compresión, modificando superficies y aportando nuevas funcionalidades, escalando el proceso y la capacidad de réplica y mejorando las propiedades ópticas. Por otro, en la línea de dispositivos médicos, colaboramos estrechamente con profesionales clínicos para identificar sus necesidades médicas y las de pacientes; cubrimos todo el ciclo de desarrollo desde la idea hasta la pre-serie.
Colaborará en la gestión técnica y económica de proyectos de I+D+I internos y externos (financiación pública y/o privada), y en la identificación y búsqueda de nuevas oportunidades.
