In Planeta DeAgostini we are seeking a highly motivated PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST to join our team in Barcelona.

Position Objective:

To develop the products in the pipeline together with product Development, marketing and editorial team, guaranteeing that cost and time targets are respected. To support the Head of Sourcing to take final decision on assignments, preparing tenders and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Management:

• Keeping the relationship with existing suppliers at top quality level. Making sure all the current projects are well coordinated and executed on time.


• Ensure that the activity related to the products under his competence is moved forward respecting the objectives of costs and time. Make sure that approvals are happening regularly and that the supplier receive and include comments during the development phase.


• Strict control of the development calendars.


• Led the day-to-day communications with suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop the projects following the correct path to get the result required with the maximum quality.


• Search of new suppliers who can offer new technological solutions, product alternative and price competitiveness.


• To support Marketing in the initial phase of the product ideas with cost estimations.


• Preparing tenders for major projects, proposing bidders for new projects, run the tender and support the Head of Sourcing to take final decision.


• Supporting the Head of Sourcing for negotiations or conduct them him/herself.

Product category:

• Highly valuable comming from toy, miniatures and collectible products.


• Understanding of production processes such as moulding, injection PVC, diecasting will be highly valuable.


• Experience in dealing with far east suppliers.

Requirements:

• Higher education


• Previous relevant experience


• Advanced English


• Experience with BI Tools, MS Excel, SAP


• International experience (especially in China) preferred

Skills:

Fact-Based Negotiation: The ability to leverage research, analysis, sourcing strategies to define a fact-based negotiation strategy; plan and conduct supplier negotiations to drive toward defined objectives, work with suppliers to identify mutual areas of benefit and build agreed pricing.

The ability to develop good communication among procurement teams and with the business units, to foster effective teamwork.
