The successful candidate will join the Thermal Storage department of the research centre.

The successsful candidate will be expected to perform the following tasks:

Physical, chemical and thermal characterisation of thermal storage materials.
Record and examine the results.
Organise and clean the laboratory, managing waste according to existing legislation.
Preparation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
Drawing up technical reports.

To be assessed:

Proven experience in: XRD, microscopy (SEM, TEM), GC-MS, ICP-MS, FTIR.
Experience working in a research laboratory is a plus.
Collaboration in research projects.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
At least higher level training in Laboratory Technician or demonstrable professional experience that qualifies him/her to perform the function.

Professional experience not required.

Knowledge of specific techniques:
- Office tolls
- Experience in physical, chemical and thermal characterisation of materials. E.g. DSC, TGA, rheometer, zeta potential, DLS (dynamic light scattering), laser diffraction, lambdometer, density meter.

- Good oral and written skills in English

Transversal skills:
- Ability to work in a team

- Ability to work under pressure
- Fast learner

The position offered requires occasional participation in events outside Extremadura.
