Are you passionate about shaping policies that can make a real difference in young people’s lives across Europe? The PROMISE consortium is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team for 24 months and play a central role in Work Package 5: Policy Analysis & Recommendations and Work Package 2: Qualitative Exploration. WP 5 is coordinated by ICS, University of Navarra, with partners in Estonia and the UK; WP2 is coordinated by the Estonian partner.
About the Project
Our project explores how cultural, social, and policy factors influence the relationship between social media and the well-being of young people. In PROMISE WP5, we bring together findings from across the project to develop evidence-based policy recommendations for both European and national contexts. We aim to ensure that these recommendations are not only grounded in solid research but also enriched by the voices of young people and the perspectives of key organizations.
You will be part of a vibrant international network that includes academic institutions, NGOs, and policy stakeholders. Our confirmed associated partners — including EPRA, VSUM, Peaasi, FAD, the Princess of Girona Foundation, and ParentZone — will work alongside us to create meaningful, culturally sensitive, and practical solutions.
Your Role
As a postdoc in PROMISE WP5, you will:
- Map and analyze current policies across Europe on youth and social media, highlighting strengths, gaps, and opportunities.
- Synthesize insights from earlier work packages (WP1–WP4) into actionable recommendations.
- Work closely with stakeholders and partner organizations to ensure our outputs are relevant and impactful.
- Help design and facilitate co-creation workshops where young people shape recommendations in their own words.
- Contribute to producing clear, evidence-based strategies that can guide policymakers at both the European and national levels.
Regarding PROMISE WP2, you will:
- Support the organisation and facilitation of focus groups across age groups and countries, particularly in Spain.
- Assist with youth-friendly methods, such as storytelling, visual aids, and rapport-building, under WP2 guidance.
- Help adapt interview guides and materials to ensure age-appropriate and culturally sensitive engagement.
- Aid in data collection and preliminary organisation to support subsequent analysis.
- Contribute to cross-national coordination to maintain consistency in recruitment and methodology.
